Fascinating stuff.

Not least that, from all the restaurant reviews I’ve posted during the year, the one most liked was a home delivery meal from a chain restaurant.

Not that odd when you think of it. Chains, especially ones with delivery, cast a far wider net than a single location restaurant.

Yeah but not a wide a net as North America which, unsurprisingly, accounted fro 11 of the 12 likes (as far as I understand their approx locations).

Americans love a British accent?

We first visited the States in 1980. And have visited a number of times since. But it’s only in comparitively recent trips that my accent has been recognised as British. In the earlier years, I was most often taken for a New Zealander. My pal, Paul (a Kentuckian pacticing law there in Lexington) says he can understand me, so long as I don’t speak quickly.

Of course, my northwest England accent comes through in my writing on this forum, doncha think? LOL.
