This will be the only original functioing Woolworth’s luncheonette in U.S. There will also be a music venue in the basement with recording facilities.

I went to that Bakersfield Woolworth’s in early January 2019, coming back from LA. It was nifty then and I bet it looks great now.

Late night Lao and Thai food at Castro Village Bowling Alley in Castro Valley.

Excerpt:

Still, we kept getting up there, with fish sauce on our breath and a sense of hope and promise in our hearts. Because the thing about bowling is there’s always the next frame. There’s always a second ball. And if that doesn’t work out, a bite of Lao sausage and jeow som will ease even the most miserable performance.

Aren’t many people doing it - perhaps I am missing something but what is so unique about him ?

I watched this on TV … what has happened to the host? She looks very different from last season. Has she been ill?

Who said it’s unique? It’s representative, and yes, perhaps you are missing something as you admit.

If you listen to Leslie’s interview at the 37:50 mark, you might find out why you think that.
