And just like that, I’m back. 10 days of glorious eating. Some of the best we’ve ever done. Got many notes, and much to share. Should I create a new thread or put it all here?

To this thread I’ll just add that we can certainly vouch for the reopened Asador Araneta (Araneta Erretegia) in Zestoa. It looks the same, with the same grill meister and was packed with families on a Sunday afternoon.
Having had a wonderful txuleta 2 days before at Herriko Taberna Mikel Bengoa in Meñaka, outside of Mungía (put this one on your list), we decided to forgo the txuleta here (we had 3 already on this trip!) and ordered txangurro (spider crab) and solomillo with foie plus pantxineta for dessert. And a bottle of Amaren from Samaniego.
So, Ziggy, you can now return!

Here’a another question: For how long would a reasonable person keep their notes and receipts from travels. (I already know how long a non-reasonable person is keeping them…but am I ever going to open those folders with hotel and restaurant receipts from my 2002 trip to Bologna?
