Then top with your own real butter or whatever cheese\seasoning suits your fancy that day.
I guess the point is, with popcorn anyway, temp makes a difference to many of us. I enjoy cold prime rib, but can’t like cold popcorn.
They are my fav style of potato chip. Cape Cod brand makes them also. CC says they’re not overcooked just that the dark russet potato is naturally that dark… personally I’m skeptical but I don’t let that stop me from getting them whenever I can, Utz brand that is. We rarely see the CC dark on the shelves just their normal type. Gotta watch my salt so don’t do them as much as I want to anymore ![]()
Looks to be maybe double that of crunchy Cheetos, if this source is correct? https://images.app.goo.gl/AwiQpzXVwosJ7Dr69
Ill be in Redding tomorrow. Im going to stop at chick - fil - A . I have never been to one . Any recommendations for their chicken sandwich?
Bartel’s is my favorite in Redding. ![]()
I’d go there after Chick-fil-A,
Last year I went to our county fair here and there was a Chick-fil -A booth so I decided to check it out. It offered just a few items. I got the chicken wrap. The thin wrap was filled with lots of lettuce, some breaded chicken finger thingies and a ranch type dressing. Not spectacular, but it kept me from indulging in all the typical greasy food fare.
Yes, I recommend their chicken sandwich.

Hey i might chicken out .
Are there no other dining choices where you’re headed?
There’s some hype around it, for people who haven’t tried it. I haven’t tried it. I probably won’t because of reasons other than the food.
Same sort of hype for trying Jollibee, which I haven’t tried yet.
When the bigot chicken first opened in my hometown, they distributed coupons everywhere for a free chicken sandwich. Since I didn’t have to give them any money I decided to get one. Both strangely bland and overly salty at the same time. No inclination for a repeat - I don’t get the hype, but I realize I’m an outlier when it comes to FF ![]()
I was trying to remember the name of the fast food chicken restaurant I tried in Manhattan years ago, wondering if it could have been Chick-Fil-A. It wasn’t, it was Ranch 1. https://www.ranchone.com/
I only went once.
I tend to eat fried chicken as a main more than I eat fast food fried chicken sandwiches, although I do enjoy a chicken parm sandwich or a chicken katsu sando. I mostly buy my fried chicken at Mary Brown’s, a Canadian chain, very occasionally at Popeye’s. I’ve never ordered the chicken sandwich at Mary Brown’s or Popeye’s.
I haven’t tried Chick Fil A or Papa John’s only because they couldn’t stay out of the politics.
I’ve had Popeye’s a couple of times bc a good friend of ours loves it (grew up with it I guess). Not terrible. Last time I got KFC I had such a bad reaction that I 'll never have it again.
We have a few Korean-style fried chicken places back home, and two stupid chains - Big Dean’s hot chicken & Raising Canes. I tried the former - it was ok, but I’d much rather have fried chicken thighs or breasts on the bone vs. tenders.
For the record: Papa John’s is no longer headed up by problematic CEO John Schattner. He was bounced from the company board and has sold all of his stock. So, if you want to eat it, his idiocy shouldn’t stop you. There’s plenty of OTHER reasons for not eating it, of course…
Chick-Fil-A is still privately held by the Cathy family. However the corporation itself no longer contributes to anti-lgbt organizations, and has adopted non-discrimination policies. They STILL mandate closing on sundays and have rather restrictive personal grooming policies for employees but that’s all fair game. The Cathys themselves are still big conservative donors, but that could be true of any company.
I never got the big deal about the chicken, either. It’s fine, certainly not worth the wait in the lines that always seem to be there.
Thanks for the updates!
Well i chickened out . Went to R&R mears instead .loaded up with goodies and headed for home
I try to support businesses that align with my conscience. I really try.
So do I. It’s not always a perfect effort, but I try.
