Oh man what a set of pictures!! I need to experience this before it disappears. How bout a Master Wok HODown???
Thank you horrifying me. Can you head to Traction Park next. Best “Weird NJ” of 2024, so far.
this was posted by someone local who I follow on IG:
Can’t lie… Omakasa in my mind =$$$$ so I’m truly surprised to see this. I assume it’s going into the new building to the left of Cardinal Provisions.
I’ve been hoping for a place in NJ that will have a good omakase but my hopes aren’t high for a spot in Asbury.
Oh man Blimpie!!! I miss their super sub, that’s the first time I ever had a sub and it was like a whole new world.
Tried Umi buffet at East Brunswick next the Asian Food center that has been ‘Coming Soon’ for like 2 years. This was the spot previously occupied by the extremely disgusting Teppanyaki Grill (I think that was the name).

Dinner was $39 per person but we have a 10% coupon. They do have a really great variety of sushi and cooked food and even mini hotpot.
We got there around 6:30pm on a Friday and waited only for like 5 min. During our dinner, there was a huge crowd waiting outside and the place was pretty packed for the 2 hours we were there.
If buffet is your thing, definitely worth a visit.
And still no Indian place in AP
According to a job listing from June, this is the first or what they hope to be multiple locations in the next 2-3 years
Looks like a chain coming in
I absolutely may be wrong, but it seems like an odd choice to put in AP. Give us Indian. Give us real Szechuan. Give us Ramen. But omakase??
Not AP but there’s a new Indian place in Belmar. I think it’s the former Simply Southern space. I haven’t been yet but hope to get there soon.
Anyone interested in meeting up? @CurlzNJ @heidicooksandbakes
ABSOLUTELY!
(Yes @hungryonion it IS a complete sentence. Getting sick of me posting that yet?)
Where can you score that coupon?
My wife got it from IG.
I think it’s this one but they didn’t give us abalone.
I’m surprised they stayed open as long as they did after the Manasquan store opened. Everything there except the bread was prepackaged. And the bread is brought in already baked at their central baking facility in Pt Pleasant.
Big thread on our NextDoor board and people are loving the food thus far… can’t wait to try it!
I saw one conversation on Next Door and the poster liked it as well. Are you free for lunch one day next week?
You get I am!!
