Walked by the le Cafe at 4 seasons hmmm they have increased the prices with the Danish at 8$ hmmm is this new norm now with emmer and le genie leading the way? First time I walked out empty handed hmmm next stop Laduree or maybe the cafe upstairs talk about bittersweet ![]()
This trip was to Le Beau’ Boulangerie apparently this place had a larger selection. Tried the honey cake and kougin amman both are decent. The other person loaded up a bunch of croissant and other items to take out.
The setup is nice and warm though not sure about the seating capacity and heating situation in the winter. Wouldn’t mind visiting if I’m in the area again.
My friend loves the Le Beau location just east of the Distillery District. She loves their croissants and almond croissants.
I will post at some point when I visit, about the savoury options.
Walked by Delysee in Yorkville today. Yikes the prices have gone up a lot. Tiny slices at these prices hmmm better off at Laduree nearby. Hmmm never quite enjoyed their offerings so not a total loss
Had a delivery from Laduree from Yorkdale as it now shows up on and off. Trusty old st honore and lemon meringue tart ( good stuff). I have also spotted tarte tatin in store at Yorkville location though its not appeared on delivery apps. I appreciated the lemon tart as hard to find a decent one alo used to have a decent one now it’s just sugar galore and at times just one bite put me off
In Yorkville I’d do Oxley’s ice cream ($6) over Laduree, but I’m just a sucker for non-chains too.
Hmmm I recall trying oxleys sticky toffee pudding that comes with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Didn’t make much of an impression. Though I am not a big fan of sticky toffee pudding either. Will keep it in mind.
Ordered double chocolate biscotti and lemon cookies from sud forno to account for picky dessert eaters for the holiday weekend meal. Should go well. Also st honore from Laduree reliable as usual today
I have enjoyed the Terroni / Sud Forno cookies and pastries I have purchased. I hope you enjoy them, too.
Yeah their stuff is good though I prefer forno cultura. There was a promo on the delivery app that doesn’t offer forno cultura so ordered from sud forno
I find Forno Cultura hit or miss. Really fantastic when good.
I like their sandwiches and coffee, and some pastries.
(I do not recommend the Forno Cultura panettone)
At Sud Forno, I mostly buy their tiramisu, panna cotta , and puddings. I bought the cookies at Spaccio, for my dining companions. I live around a 15 minute walk from the Sud Forno on Queen W, and a 25 minute walk from the Forno Cultura on Queen W.
Too funny, semi-related but I used the Skip $15 off $30+ for Terroni Peperoncini Piccanti and some cookies as I’m close enough to walk to pickup from Terroni Price.
Today’s trip was to st John’s bakery and black bird.
St John’s had the short bread in stock so had to get that in addition to the breads. They somehow don’t offer the spelt one for delivery just like short bread (so picked it up as requested)
Not a fan of black bird but did pickup a pumpkin spiced tart for guest. Went well
The ginger cookies at St. John’s are really good. The chocolate corks and the canales are really good at Blackbird.
Has nugateau closed? Haven’t seen them on the delivery apps and website leads to a dead link! Will miss them
Confirmed nugateau is closed sadness.
Picked up tarte tatin from Laduree in Yorkville. Will report back after trying it in the evening.
I have enjoyed éclairs from Bomou, if you’re looking for an éclair.
