I actually own a working rotary phone, now sidelined since our telco abandoned copper wiring. It’s very heavy - still useful as a weapon.
There are a number of maker-made conversions where they turn an old rotary or touch-tone phone into either an independent cell phone or a Bluetooth extension of your cell. Ones that still have the physical bells.
I have been sorely tempted.
I my errant youth I actually had a working candlestick phone — with dial— in my house. It was not conducive to long conversations , or multitasking such as it was in pre-screens days. Took 2 hands to walk and talk on the phone. Fortunately it wasn’t the only phone in the house.
When my now wife of 40 years and I first got together, I had a large rotary dial Mickey Mouse phone. She shoulda known to run while there was a chance.
Yea. It’s a classic.
