Buttercup, Snowflake, Gertie, Shugah, Eleanor, TinaTurner, 89, 33, 217 were all great cows. All are now deceased, but great cows. Grace was the one I had to be there when they took her away. That was the only bovinebitch cow I ever milked. My neighbor always had their names on a wooden boards atop their stanchions. Grace would try to step on your foot, plow you into the stanchion, kick like hell, and she was huge. Now all cows are friends. If you have a taste for Hormel products, there’s a chance you’ve eaten Grace. Snowflake was an allstar.
My Grandmother was Welsch, and spoke it. Her English accent was insane, but very sing songy. Interesting cadence to Welsh.
There are only 10 types of people in the world – those who understand binary, and those who don’t.
You might be interested in watching ‘Gavin and Stacey’, a BBC sitcom with short episodes based on a plot of English boy falls in love with Welsh girl. Hilarity ensues as their very different worlds collide. A showcase for some classic Welsh accents.
I don’t know. I tend to go for more cutting and crazy humor when I go British. Two Little Ronnies, Ab Fab, The Young Ones, Monty Python, of course.
Where could I view it?
Did you ever watch the British sitcom “Chef!” starring Lenny Henry?
It is cutting and crazy, very British - check out a trailer on YouTube! I don’t know how you could watch it in the USA. Perhaps Google ‘watch Gavin and Stacey online’ and see what options come up?
Gavin and Stacey is one of our favorite comedy series of all time. Britbox and Peacock currently have it in the US.
I once saw, on some Finnair signage, a word with 6 umlautted a’s. I can’t even begin to imagine how that would have been pronounced.
I’ll catch the trailer and do some digging. I could use some new horizons. Thanks for the rec.
Cool! @tomatotomato has chipped in above with the information that Gavin and Stacey is available on Britbox and Peacock in the US. And that it is one of their favourite comedy series of all time!
Isn’t Gavin and Stacy to blame for giving James Corden a career?
It’ll have to answer for that…
Well, there is that.
I see that with some relative’s names. Too many vowels together!
