It has been a recent trending fact, what with the DC Comic cinematic universe reboot, that Gotham City is a second city of a similar size to NYC, that is located across the river in New Jersey.
Next time you see a Batman comic, read Batman’s dialogue with a Sopranos / Jersey Shore accent.

That reminds me of when Grant Morrison debuted the character of Damian Wayne, son of Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul, as the new Robin. I couldn’t not read his voice as that of Stewie from Family Guy.
Still not a fan of that character.
