What are you watching? - 2025

Neither am I. But I’m also not NEVER offended. And I wouldn’t expect you to be offended on behalf of a population you’re not a part of.

Never say never. Ever. And I probz shoulda said “least irritating” vs. “offensive.”

Of the other three you mentioned, I bailed on I Love LA and Lena Dunham Surrogate after a couple of episodes. I didn’t even attempt Emily in Paris, but unfortunately my students keep wanting to write spec scripts for it, so I am trapped, there.

Ah, the sacrifices ‘we’ have to make in the name of edumacatin’ kids.

I just finished watching the excellent 2nd season of The Capture on Peacock. Another very binge worthy 6 episodes. It is pretty mind blowing and scary the type of deep fakes that can be created with AI and the use of algorithms.

I started The Beast in Me last night. I’ve only seen one episode so far, and it started so slow. By the end I was hooked. We will see.

I wonder if I really want to check that out… how depressing is it?

It’s a little depressing, but very well done, and intense. There is a very satisfying ending in season 2.

I musta missed the article when I was in Berlin (or Sicily, as it were).

thank you yes i did. Jason is great in S19. what’s funny is that i listen to his podcast, which has been running for about 15 years. they often do plugs at the end of the show, mostly for personal projects. but at some point Jason used his plug to mention Taskmaster. it’s what got me interested in the show so many years ago. so him actually being on the show was a dream come true, it’s probably his favourite show on T.V. fyi: he plays a whacky character in the new season of A Man on the Inside.

Don’t know his podcast, but “Apollo” seemed familiar.

Was he in Broad City?

yes, i think he was. he also had good runs in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and The Good Place.

He’s a great character. Was also in second season of The Afterparty on Apple TV which was a fun show. Sad it got cancelled.

Oh, right! Was that the catering show initially with Paul Rudd?

No that was Party down with Adam Scott and a ton of other great actors. Really funny. I think it came out 5 or 6 years ago and then they made a third season last year.

Right! I can’t keep anything we watch straight anymore unless I take notes… which I don’t :upside_down_face:

KPop Demon Hunters. That was fun. And I finally know 75% of the words to Golden, so I can annoy people at will with my super-high singing!
