No, that part did not stay with me at all. Maybe at the time I figured she’d written a bestseller or something.
We watched One Battle After Another, as it was finally free for streaming. I’d heard such great stuff about it from … well, everyone and their duck, including many friends.
I’d read as little as possible about it in advance, as is my preferred MO with most new movies, so I only had a vague idea of the plot.
It was ok, I guess. Didn’t blow my mind like everyone else’s, but perhaps Pynchon’s just not my cuppa.
Glad we watched it at home. Don’t think I would’ve had the patience to see this in the theatre.
Just finished The Beast in Me. I wasn’t crazy about it at first, but it kept getting better. I really liked it. Now I need to find something new.
Started the new season of Stranger Things. I might’ve just as well rewatched the first 3 given how long it’s been & how little I remember.
Still fun, if confusing ![]()
Wake Up Dead Man was fun, but much too long at over 2 hours. Even split between two nights, I found some of the scenes tedious.
I totally agree! It was a bit crazy too!
@paryzer & @anaxgorous — we finally started Pluribus last night, and I’m so glad we waited to have all but the final episode to binge. Loving it so far — the style, the script, the questions it poses — and Rhea Seehorn’s character apparently reminds my PIC ever so slightly of me. I bet it’s her natural charm and cheerfulness ![]()
I’m glad you are enjoying it. I’m looking forward to the finale tonight!
Ooooh! It’s tonight already!! We watched 4 last night & have a Festivus party to head to (if my PIC’s up for it). Might have to do a daytime binge mañana since the next two evenings are busy.
And another season on the horizon!

Technically the finale is scheduled for tomorrow (12/24), but Apple usually releases new episodes at 9PM ET the night before. They moved the finale up a few days before Christmas.
glad you could check it out. the Philosophy minor i did in college is coming in handy. Seehorn did an interview on Fresh Air recently where she talks about the origins of the show (no spoilers): https://www.npr.org/2025/12/09/nx-s1-5638583/star-of-pluribus-rhea-seehorn .
i’m firmly in Carol’s (and Manousos) camp. f*ck the hive-mind.
But everyone’s sofa king happyyyyyy. and niiiiiice ![]()
Carol and I seem to have a lot of things in common — like not suffering fools lightly and lack of patience. I’d likely be the last living human on earth ![]()
I’m def in the Diabaté camp, hookers, blackjack and a different Lambo for each day of the week!! ![]()
No. Way.
