The truffle festival(s) in Istria sound terrific. It sounds like a great time to explore that region, away from the summer crowds. I’ve been to the Barolo region around the major truffle fair in Alba, which is fantastic as well. I’m also marking down the chestnut fair in Cuneo as well, the train trip from the coast is spectacular. There really are some fantastic fall harvest festivals throughout greater Europe.
“Foodies take note: Thinner crowds and richly colored foliage aren’t the only benefits of shoulder season on the continent.”
Didn’t the NYT just have an article about ‘there is no more shoulder season’?
The NYT making a mistake? Contradicting itself?
No. Way.
