I think that is one of the biggest misconceptions of finding out if food has gone bad - most bacteria/microbes who might affect your stored food don’t produce potentially toxic products which smell

I would eat it.
But I would never tell other people what to do with leftovers.

I’d guess the Chinese noodles had egg in them. Perhaps that’s what stunk so quickly.
They were vacuum-packed. I’ve had the same brand same noodz, and they smelled of ammonia when I opened them.
Needless to say, I haven’t purchased them again ever since.
