Just adding, FWIW, that this does not happen on two other discourse-based boards I frequent daily.
@hungryonion Just wanted to thank you as always for keeping this wacky and wonderful boat afloat.
Thought I’d replied but it appears to have been deleted.
My phone’s default browser had been Chrome but I have changed it to Safari. There has been no change in the reply window size.
I went to the Discourse site and started a reply to a post there. The reply screen is normal, with the reply screen not getting bigger when I hit Done.
As I mention above, the two other discourse-based forums I follow work normally. I certainly hope this can be resolved as replying can now take dozens of swipes until the screen works normally.
Note: it seems like a very hard right swipe, as if back-paging, is what causes the screen to return to normal. That action, however, does not happen easily.
What is the “upper left icon in the reply toolbar”? Does it appear in the same place for both desktop and mobile?
I have no clue but I just clicked on it and it seems to bypass the screen size issue I’ve had so much trouble with. Amazing if that’s a permanent fix for me. THANK YOU for asking the question.
Edit: NOPE. Fixed it once but wouldn’t repeat on a second try. ![]()
@hungryonion Here it is:
Below the OP, there is a count of views, users, etc. If I click on a user icon, it brings up a window that includes an option to filter by user. That no longer works – on desktop, it shows the screen I shared a pic of before with giant badges, on mobile there is no option to filter anymore at all.

(That was a question for @hungryonion , not you
)
I knew that. Just was interested in what it was too. Actually hitting that spot seemed to fix the problem I’ve been having but it did just that once. Back to the problem again. I thought I had deleted my reply as it became irrelevant.
deleted by author . . . my boo-boo
To clarify, before the update- you were able to filter posts by user in desktop, with the badges in normal size. and you were also able to filter posts by user in mobile?
I filed a bug report with the dev who wrote this piece of code. In the meantime, I disabled the badges.
correct on desktop
on mobile, the filter became unavailable after a prior update but i forgot to mention it here – before that it was available
thank you
Interesting. I don’t see that formatting menu at all on my iPhone when I use my standard browser (DuckDuckGo); I do see it using Safari.
can you see if you can filter here:
if you cannot, it may just be that the functionality has changed for the software.
This is addressed offline.
