Menu typos / bloopers

Whatever you took from that is on you, not me.

(And you didn’t answer the question of what you thought I was getting at, other than similar language to the menu shared.)

No point.

I am at a loss as to what you’re talking about.

There was no point to any of it.

Only the nose knows. Good night.

Does that happen here? In 10 years I don’t recall having seen anybody doing that on a regular basis.. got one or two to reference?

I think I recall a small handful of occasions. My recollection, such as it is, is that it’s always been used in a deliberately light hearted way or as a joke.

I do get marginally peeved when I see stuff written phonetically to represent a regional accent or use of regional wording. The Scots are buggers for doing this - and some parts of my own region arent far behind. Or this Yorkshire tosh, from a place near where we stayed a few weeks back.

Scots can’t even pronounce the letter i

I refused to go to a small local pub called the Guv’nor in my early 20s because the spelling and signage bugged me. On the Monday after I refused to visit, I found out the same night I refused to visit, the Barenaked Ladies had gone to the pub after playing a concert at our city’s fair, a concert I had attended, before they made it big. I didn’t really care, but my friend felt like my decision not to go to the Guv meant she missed her chance to hang out with the band. Of course, she could have gone on her own.

I am still a bit of a grammar and spelling snob.

My partner took these pics at a restaurant in Ione, CA

It’s not a typo or blooper, but a commitment to design that apparently trumps legibility…

The burgers are particularly egregious.

Are you ready to order?
Umm you’re gonna have to give me a half hour to decipher the menu.

That’s kind of funny. There’s another restaurant owned by the same family about a mile from my house and their menu isn’t nearly as busy or interesting.

. . . that trumps legibility . . .

well, certainly explains why they never change their menu . . .
