Spelling Bee Thread — that is totally a (food) word!

Well, that would explain that.

We’ve got birria and bialy today but no arrabbiata.

SIX pangrams, tho! Wow.

Also: baba, blat, and brat.

No balti or bibb, either.

And still no larb

Oh, yeah. Meant to write that, too. Neither is laab.

Think I gave up after I reached genius and had only found 2 panagrams.

I got all but one.

Some contractions are more acceptable than others, apparently. Gotta is fine, oughta is not

No chimichurri today, but churro is ok.

YES! Another facepalm. And yet, mochi is there.

No annoying omissions today. I just had to brag that it was probably the first SB ever that I solved without needing any hints.

“Check out the big brains on Natascha.”

Not food related, but a very rare Spelling Bee with an S in it!

I was shocked! Also, I think bollocks is a legit word.

Yes, I was wondering why they didn’t include bollocks. Perhaps the NYT considers it a British colloquialism?

Lots today! Goat, grog, ragout, ragu, tang, tarragon… and I guess you could also consider gout to be food-related.

Or an expletive?

Maybe. Technically, it should be a colloquial term for testicles. Sometimes used as an expletive but sometimes also to express admiration eg. “He’s the dog’s bollocks.”

Oooh! Like a modern version of “the bee’s knees” — which personally I think should make a comeback.

So, momma is a-ok, but nonna isn’t. Ageism?

Loco yes, loca no. Sexism?

No cannolo

But … ANYHOO? REALLY?
