The 76 2025: The most vital restaurants in the Philly area

Quite a few places I need to add to my list for our next visit:

Alice ('murrcan)
Bolo (Puerto Rican)
Cafe Cuong (Viet)
Chateau Rouge (West African)
Cily Chicken Rice and Thai Food, Dara (Thai)
Her Place (fancy)
Indo Spice (Indonesian)
M Kee (Cantonese 'cue)
Niki Echo Cafe (Javanese)
OCTOPUS CART (yes, PLZ!)

@Bigley9 — got any input on any of these? Like the OCTOPUS CART? :star_struck:

Sadly there is no Octopus on the Octopus Cart! The food cart has one offering a day, no modifications, and a balanced meal of the 4 food groups - kind of soup nazi-like. Food is good and you get a ton of it! Cafe Cuong is my “other” bahn mi spot, very good but the hours don’t always work for me. Her Place is a tough reservation - I haven’t been, but they also have My Loup which is fabulous . Kiki Aranita reviewed/selected the asian restaurants, she used to have Poi Dog Cafe, and I am anxious to try some of the places I was unfamiliar with that she recommended.

Wut! Guess I can skip that one

We tried to get a rez at My Loup last year with friends, and they never responded to my emails nor answered their phone. Meh.

Oh wow. I booked a reservation at My Loup online (Open Table) without a problem back in September. It was very good, I’ll have to dig out the menu.

We may try again next time we’re in town, though likely not before next year :frowning:
