The Safeway increase in spring of 2024 shows when the protected bike lane opened so I could get there safely. The drop in expenditures since March this year is me trying to watch costs. I started doing most of the shopping this spring, so my wife drives to WinCo less often. (This is all roughly what I guessed, but it was nice to see that the numbers reflect what I thought was happening.) Maybe I’ll roll together Albertson’s and Safeway in the next iteration of this - they’ve got the same prices; I just go to Albertson’s if I am in that neighborhood for other reasons.
I decided to include a rolling average because we’ve got a chest freezer and a lot of pantry space, so I wanted to smooth out the “stock up on this or that” spikes.
