Updates and running commentary from our critters

One of my cats has been browsing in the dog section, because she’s mastered the art of the silent fart.

I’m not a cat person - was violently allergic to them for years - so I didn’t know cats could fart!

Theirs are truly silent - they don’t rip 'em out like dogs can. So there you are, quietly reading or watching TV on the couch…and then you jump up and run because OMFG, they just stunk the place up by farting while they’re lying on the back of the couch!

One of mine actually let a very audible one rip the other day. I think it’s actually the first time Ive ever heard a cat break wind

I’ve had cats all my life and not one has ever farted. Maybe it depends on what they are fed. For 13 years my two Abbys only ate raw ground chicken. My cat now, age 9, ate raw for many years, then roasted chicken. Now she eats half roasted chicken mixed with Smalls frozen food … she isn’t keen on the Smalls but the vet thinks it’s better.

Silent, but deadly, too!

Mine too. Never had a cat do this before.

Both the Dude and Monkey Boy farted silently and, on occasion, impressively stanky :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Looks like we’ll be finding out soon whether these two cutehs are fart knockers as well :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Two INTACT males?

No. Our pound doesn’t have intact males or females for adoption.

My eyes thought they saw balls … are they boys? Names?

Yeah I think that’s just a little… fluff where the balls used to be.

Jake (the white & orange tabby) and Caleb, the orange one. Now we need to find TWO new names for our new buddies! Yikes!

Do they know their names? My Darcy is 9 now and I’m not completely sure she actually knows her name. Maybe low IQ? Previous Abby, Zoe, most certainly knew her name!

Adorable kittens - congratulations. The cats are lucky to have you guys as their pet parents! I’m assuming they’re litter mates? Very cute.

Neither the Dude nor Rocky (yes, that was my stupid idea — even though Smoky or Bandit would’ve been more fitting, what with his smoky face / mask) knew their names. Or they were just really good at ignoring them.

Of course, we barely used their given names. More like monkey boy, fluffmunger, munchkin, etc. etc.

I think the pound just gives all their kitties names when they get in, but these two came in very recently, so hopefully they’re not used to them.

I was thinking Cheddar and Cheeto, but the latter has taken on a connotation I’m not too fond of, so… the brainstorming continues!

Just part of a group of 15 cats that were dumped in the middle of nowhere , and these two bonded. Caleb takes his cues from Jake, even tho Jake is the smaller cat

I like Jake - but the Orange Cattorist will definitely need another name. What about Jake and Elwood?

I like the idea of two very different names! I cat sit for brothers Simba and Cinder and the names are way too similar. How great that they have each other. A long time ago when I was considering getting an Abby, a breeder told me his favorite for a pet was neutered males. I’ve been getting females because they jump up on me and mine is only 8 pounds and she can almost knock me over … would be much worse with a bigger male. (Abbys and this Tonkinese can jump up to your shoulder from the floor … sometimes, it’s quite a surprise.)
