Updates and running commentary from our critters

We just laid down a single sheet. The point of it is to jump on it and hear that dreaded noise. Cats like to be stealth without making a sound :slightly_smiling_face:

My mother’s first-ever pet as an adult; adopted when Mom was 75 and the pup was about 4. (Pup was rescued from a bad breeding/hoarding situation.)

And apparently a 49er fan.

Parker ignores tin foil, but hates the noise a Slinkie makes, so when he was young that’s how we trained him if he went on surfaces he shouldn’t have. Every cat is different!

They’ll get past it. It’s a lot for them to absorb, but it will pass.

My floofy boy lived under the bed for a week…he had been living in the wild (not feral..he’s too much of a cuddler) so wasnt accustomed to having a box. It was a few days of stinky scavenger hunt to find the corner he’d used.

I ended up getting a new box with lower sides…this is the one who was badly roughed up by coyotes before the rescue found him, and once he found the box he’d go in front of it. He was still stiff and sore and physically couldnt get in the older, higher box.

I also bought a bag of litter attractant for kittens…and it seemed to be the signal he needed. (Bonus…it smells like fresh cut alfalfa to us hoomans so I didn’t mind it at all)

They’re both housebroken & know where the litter boxes are, as they use them.

I can only hope this was an accident, as Jonesy got pretty excited over the feather toy I played with him on the bed.

Dryel to the rescue for the blanket.

Here they are, those sweeties, looking all harmless n 'at :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Finn is back in his “crawl under the blankie on Mom’s lap” mode.

We occasionally find little “presents” on the floor when the cats have left the litter box without completely finishing up.

Don’t they look absolutely adorable & totally harmless?

That is… when those hellions aren’t trying to climb our bookshelves knocking shit over to get to the treasured feather toy, with which they are absolutely obsessed.

Oh, my! Our two are currently having an animated conversation in the living room, no doubt planning their next shenanigans!

And we are leaving them for 2.5 days :scream:

Best to remove any valuables from the shelves errrrrrywhere!

Ohhh, that one is just FULL of shenanigans, @Meekah! LOL

So very naughty! But she looks so innocent…

Feather toys go in the fridge.

Ummm. Not in this house. I don’t care for cat saliva from 2 cats near our food. But we will tuck it away in the guest room, and likely buy a couple more today.

Check those plugged in electrical cords that might become chewables. Cover your stove tops with inverted baking sheet pans.

Oh dear!

Oh, cables are Mr. #oneorangebraincell’s favorite chewing toy, so yeah. We’ll put as many as possible out of reach :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

The stovetop is not an issue. They already party on the countertop at night, no doubt. Aluminum foil was either avoided or swiped out of the way.

Remind me again why we got two cats? :face_with_peeking_eye:
