I’m so happy they chose us as their adoptive parents. They are the sweetest pair.

Both of them have eye issues. Jake (the smaller white/orange boy) always has crusty black stuff around them that I try to wipe off with a warm cloth, and Jones gets to have 2-3 treatments in his right eye every day for the next 10 days. Two different meds, ideally administered within 5 min. He’s not really loving it, but he’s also not being a dick about it.

He or Jake peed on my blanket yesterday, however, so that wasn’t the most awesome discovery at 1am when I was ready to go to bed.

Resentment. I had a cat that would do that if I left her alone too long.

Well, we’ve been around for the most part, and of course they have each other’s company. It’s a bit of a mystery, and we hope it’s just a one-off / accident.

Rocky/Monkey Boy introduced himself by not only peeing on my blanket, but both of our blankets the first night we brought him home — he was clearly overwhelmed with all that space he suddenly found himself in. The next morning he peed on my blanket while I was beneath it, then took a crap in front of the bedroom door. Dealbreakers, for sure, and I was crying all day thinking we might have to take him back.

The pound told us to keep him in the bathroom with food, perch, litter box for a couple of nights & letting him out to play and explore the rest of the house.

He never did anything like that again. Sweet baby :broken_heart:

It’s not a good habit to get into.

We’re keeping the bedroom door closed for now. Plenty of space for them to roam around in the rest of the house.

Murphy had his first vet visit today. He planted all 4 of his feet as I tried to get him in to the pet taxi at home; ended up having to shove him in there butt-first. He hollered all the way there; then I had to drag the towel and him out of the taxi at the vet.

He did climb right back in when it was time to go home. LOL

He was a Very Good Boy for the doctor and vet tech. Has only gained 1.3 lbs since he came home in July '23. The usual tartar on his back teeth. Will see what the blood/urine tests say.

He hollered all the way home, and has been busy cleaning himself up from other people touching him.

A few years back, I was watching a cat for a friend (at her place). The cat “crapped” in front of the front door (as a protest for being left alone for too long). She told me to put some Aluminum Foil in front of the door and that worked.

Maybe get some cheap aluminum foil and put a sheet of it in front of the bedroom door??

This was the previous tenant, our beloved Rocky.

The new kids inda house are having a gay ole time getting on our kitchen counter, and I’ve suggested the aluminum foil method to stop them.

My PIC is skeptical, but what do we have to lose?

A little water spritz might also work, although my last cat’s response to that was to blink and yell the cat equivalent of “What else you got???”

The aluminum foil method worked for us with Gucci. When we got a Frenchie to keep Gucci company many years ago, the Frenchie would rough house with Gucci. So Gucci would jump up on our white couch and crap on it. We put tin foil on the couch and he never went up there again. Cats, don’t like the crinkly sound of tin foil.

Not to mention night time, when they’re up to shenanigans we probably don’t wanna know about.

@paryzer - do you just lay down a single sheet? Do you tape it down at the end? Or is the point for them to jump on it and slide and hear that dreaded noise?

Huh? Wha?
