I’ve been out of town visiting my mother for her birthday, a visit that was busier than usual. However I did want to bake something for her (it is very hard for her to cook or bake now due to severe vision loss) and a friend I was seeing, so made Dorie Greenspan’s Blondie recipe reduced to fit an 8x8 pan. I used chocolate chips, some butterscotch chips, and coconut. I should have checked all of her ingredients first: the brown sugar was so hard it was a solid in the bag, and took me about 20 minutes to hack out enough to soften in the microwave. In any case, a very reliable recipe!
