Truly beautiful food and presentations! I’m sure it tasted as wonderful as it looks!!
Nobody’s mentioned Festivus, December 23. Here are some traditional food ideas:
I didn’t know that Festivus dates from long before Seinfeld. Dan O’keefe wrote the Seinfeld episode. and his father started it in 1966.
Let the Airing of the Grievances begin!
A friend hosts an annual Festivus party. I mentioned it in the menu planning thread for this month:
" Tuesday a friend is hosting her annual Festivus party. She always provides a ham & fixins, and the guests contribute a dish to share. Thinking of making a cambozola dip that’s hugely popular in my Fb WFD group. The Airing of Grievances pole should be absolutely plastered with post-its this year
, but we tend to avoid the Feats of Strength, which one year had people carrying other people piggy-back up a snowy hill.
That’s a hard no.
My friend has been hosting a Festivus party ever since the December after the Seinfeld episode aired.
history dot com also added a Festivus entry.
The 23rd is also Tibb’s Eve in Newfoundland.
Mrs H & I have been celebrating the Return of the Light.
I’ve spent some time in the garden. Not doing any jobs (that badly need doing) but just taking in the flora and fauna and trying to make a connection with both. On a good day, our garden can be an uplifting place. This evening, candles have been lit and we’ve feasted on lamb, cheese and butterscotch cranberry pudding.
My favorite part of Festivus!
I had to look this up – very interesting.
Time in the garden even at this time of year sounds lovely.
