I wandered by there last Wednesday. They weren’t actually open, but they were testing the POS systems by allowing anyone to get one free drink and one free pastry. I opted for the black sesame and yuzu cream cookie. It’s very good, and an interesting combination of flavors that actually works.

Prices are eye-watering though, even for the Ferry Building.

$6.50 for a plain croissant and $8 for that cookie, for example.

A friend was inside a new bakery at Pine/Polk area; he said a croissant (fancy type maybe?) was $9 so he walked out.

Yes - as sad as it is but $6.50 for a croissant doesn’t sound overly expensive

Drunken Noodles ($6.62) from takeout at Tao Yuen, 816 Franklin in Oakland Chinatown.

But $8 for a cookie? I’d never pay that price.

Yeah. $6.50 for a plain croissant seems… appropriate. The really good ones up here in Sac are all in th3 same neighborhood.

Cheaper than that and you’re more likely getting closer to a flaky brioche, which, y’know, great, but not a croissant. And def. not as good for a pan au chocolate.

The frozen chocolate ones that TJ sells are pretty delicious.

Unfortunately yes, but I agree that I also wouldn’t pay that price

I agree 100%, top quality, sane pricing.

I was reading this, agreed with many of the picks, and found out the Delirama guy opened another place called “Krispy Joe’s” and sell the pastrami sandwich, around 55th and San Pablo. Wonder if it sticks given all the previous places.
