Is the simple, round, wooden toothpick shortage limited to MN/Minneapolis SW suburbs, or are you seeing it where you live? My grocer tells me his distributor has been “out of stock” for several months now. Such a simple cooking tool that I rely on for testing baked goods and kitchen cleaning (e.g., the paddle of my bread machine, the door of my countertop oven, around the base of the faucet.) There was one box of multi-color pastel picks on the shelf (useless for cake testing) as well as a good supply of giant ones with frilled tops. There were a couple packages left of square-top slightly larger ones, pointed at only one end, priced at almost double the cost of my usual version. The grocer gave me a “courtesy discount” so I brought one package home. They don’t fit in my dispenser. Sigh. First world problems.
Seems silly to order so small (used to be commonplace) an item from Amazon, but they are in stock there.
