Trader Joe’s Product Reviews – YEA/NAY/MEH – 2025 Edition

A big yay for the crinkle cut potato chips with horseradish and chives. They were a demo with o day with the cheddar horseradish pub cheese which is a household yay

Gotta love horseradish though. I grabbed a bag for when I need crunchy carbs instead of Halloween chocolate carbs

I like to alternate sweet carbs and salty carbs.

Horseradish & chives- what that needs to go with it are some roast beef flavoured chips.

I think that may be the new brand TJ’s is using. One place near me has the narrow sticks of Columbus Calabrese and they will slice a whole one but it is a much smaller slice (more like a pepperoni slice) and much pricier. When I go to the Columbus site, the only place indicated for having the large pre-sliced that TJ’s had carried is World Market, which seems to barely exist and has no physical presence anywheres near here ….. guess I’ll have to become a vegetarian.

How similar is this to Crunchie bars?

Do they not ship sausage from World Market? Maybe it doesn’t make financial sense.

I don’t think World Market ships perishables, and some nonperishable food items are brick-and-mortar only.

It’s going for the same territory as Crunchies, yeah. Both Crunchies and to a greater degree, Violet Crumbles, have more ‘dried out’ honeycomb so you largely avoid that sticky chunk in the middle. But if you’re jonesing for one of them, these would def scratch that sort of itch.

Looks available to ship:

I was thinking of tucking a few into a sandwich. Probably turkey cause I’m not a big roast beef kinda girl

that is a sampler that can be found in some markets. The calabrese, alone is 5oz. for 5.99 and seemingly only at world market. If it were local, I would grab some but to either ship or buy enough for free shipping doesn’t make sense . Everyone - thanks for helping out.

Big yea TJ’s has brought back two of their really good Holiday items. One is Frick’s ham, with a glaze packet The other is a Nantucket style cranberry pie (frozen). Both are good enough to be used in a holiday meal or just as a treat.

I always want to buy a small one but never have freezer space to store the amount that will be left over. This is the year.

YEA to the Condensed Cream of Portobello Mushroom Soup. Intensely mushroomy and delicious. I used milk first, then a mix of milk and water, to thin it.

The holiday season hors d’oeuvres, dips, charcuterie, sides, snacks, and everything else is rolling in.

I still think one of the best dips is also one of the easiest - Lipton onion soup mix and sour cream. Best once mixed and let it sit for at least a day (my theory is that that helps re-hydrate the dried onions).

I’m still salty about the discontinued hollandaise and the unripe brie

Yep, I just did a search at TJ. So glad all the cranberry products are rolling in. Pumpkin spice is not my favorite! And new cheeses and dips.

Yes. The hollandaise is a huge loss, as is the kalamata olive oil.

If you haven’t tried the nantucket style cranberry pie, it really is very good. I don’t remember exactly, but I think it was even better when served warm (from the oven) although soft/mushy from a microwave would probably not be a bad indulgence either.

It’s on my list, as is cranberry orange dip, mixed berry and lemon curd, Spanish sheep milk cheese with quince jam, cranberry clementine whole milk yogurt, cranberry goat cheese, buffalo blue unexpected cheddar cheese spread, white stilton cheese with apple and pear, holiday cheer unexpected cheddar cheese spread. Not all once, of course, but I also don’t want to lose the chance to try these limited offerings!
