Like a lot of teenagers, Jones & Jake are spending a little too much time in the basement :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

We’re not too salty about it, as that’s where their litter boxes are, and they’ve both proven themselves to be housebroken  but they — Jones in particular, the allegedly “quiet & shy one” — seem to think that it’s their play room, and they keep knocking shit over, not to mention it’s kinda dusty down there.

But they are settling in well :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Here are some pics, especially for @ottawaoperadiva

Your boys are absolutely adorable! It’s no wonder you chose those two to adopt :two_hearts: Thanks for the update and for sharing the pics.

She is a few months old now…so sweet! It is amazing how genetics work. One crazy pallete. I’ve had tigers and tuxedos, but this is wild. And sadly, she isn’t ours, but I’d adopt her in a second!

we have a local volunteer ‘cat’ group. they have space in a pet shop.
after losing our Miss Kittens, I wandered about looking thru the windows…
they have a (closed fenced in) space with a bench and will bring out an adoptee . . .

I told them “No, let me in the back room to sit with them and see if I’m adoptable.”
I got the “Why do you have three eyes?” look . . .

not exactly what I was expecting.

We have a local pet shop that will often have a cat or two in the store (in a large cage, of course) that are available for adoption.

Jake greeted me with a sweet lil meow when we walked in the room, and Jones was also very affectionate with both of us. They really are true darlings, both of them :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I was thinking about the pocket door at casa lingua. Our 16 yo 16+# black cat taught the grandcat how to rattle the pocket door on one of our bathrooms. Also how to rattle the bathroom cabinet doors and a few kitchen ones, too. Anything for a cat laugh. Same with roaming the house at night yowling.

The predominantly white cat likes the camera/phone.

He def did that moment. I was trying to get a picture of him, and he just stuck his head right in front of the camera.

He’s the explorer of the two :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Years ago I was browsing at the SPCA and had my eye on a gorgeous Himalayan kitten … others wanted her too so there was going to be an auction. While I waited for this, I continued walking around. As I passed one cage, a teen Siamese (probably mixed) reached her arm all the way out and snagged me. That was it. We had a lot of nice years together.

becoming ‘adopted’ can be a very fast evolution . . .

I had been feeding my Darcy roasted chicken (I add some Taurine powder), before that she ate raw ground chicken that I ground up myself. She just turned 9. Recently a vet advised me to feed her Smalls frozen cat food, pretty pricey. I was doing her meals about 50/50 Smalls and roasted chicken. She was not keen on it. After doing this for a few months, I’ve just given up and have gone back to the roasted chicken.

Well, we just learned that both Jake and Jones LURV people food. I had a tiny bite of roti chicken last night, and they were all over me.

Monkey boy wanted nothing but kibble and the occasional wet food.
