Uses for brioche

A similar thing is to line a loaf pan with waxed paper or wrap of your choice followed by a lining of slices, fill with berries of your choice cooked with sugar, add a sliced bread top, wrap the top, weigh down the top while the whole thing sits in the fridge overnight, turn it out, and slice to serve. Very messy.

British Summer Pudding uses a similar method! Delicious.

I guess one could make an autumn pudding with brioche, lightly cooked apples, pears or persimmon.

That unlocked a memory Id been trying to bury.

Camping with the scouts meant dessert was one of the three:

S’mores

Those toasty stuffed sandwich irons..buttered white bread slathered with butter and filled with jam, then. Toasted in that clamshell iron

Chunks of angel food cake dipped in sweetened condensed milk, rolled in sweetened coconut, then toasted over the fire on a skewer. Even as a child it was too sweet. I stuck with the s’mores or the jam sandwich.

I can’t believe I’ve never heard of this. I would have liked it as a kid.
