What's For Dinner #122 - the Autumn Leaves of Red and Gold Edition - October 2025

Good for you! The only time I weighed 155lbs in recent history I was absolutely miserable. One of the worst times of my life, so I’m not missing that.

If I wanted to get down to that weight these days, I’d have to positively starve myself, as I don’t qualify for these drugs, nor do I want to take them.

Thankfully, I’ve long gotten over the whole diet industry / body shaming BS, which seems predominantly in place to separate (mostly) women from their money and to distract them from far more important ish than how they look. I even wrote a song about it!

As long as the weight doesn’t create any health issues, who cares. Life’s short. Eat what brings you joy :woman_shrugging:

Ive had it at OG many times. Its good, but it’s really nothing outstanding.

I end up with it because its one of a handful of reasonably healthy items on their menu that isnt buried in cheese and/or swimming in cream.

That’s what a quickie looks like after you’ve been married a while lol

I don’t even know where I first saw a recipe… SE, mabez? I really love it in the cold months.

Easy, versatile, comforting.

There were big slabs of monkfish at Tokyo Fish today 11/3/2025. At the far left of the counter, near the whole fish.

ooh wow… i ended up not going to either Tokyo Fish nor BBW - we were going to go out for dinner after seeing a show in the City but ended up doing Thai take-out instead (Anchalee in Berkeley, do you know it?)
