Hortopita, and processed cheese on toast. Processed cheese on toast Inspired by this discussion.
Something of fusion breakfast this morning. Vada leftover from a Sri Lankan takeaway, fried egg and Thai sweet chilli sauce.

Maple 5 spice sausage and ginger mango Stilton on toasted marble rye, chased by a late season local peach. Iced instant coffee whitened with evaporated milk because I’m out of regular milk.
I grew up eating toasted cheese sandwiches, not to be confused with grilled cheese. Bread topped with cheese, sometimes ham and cheese and broiled so the cheese melted. Absolutely eat with your hands.
I think the appeal of crunchy toasted bread and melted cheese is damn near universal ![]()
I had a two egg scramble with Tony Cacheres & fresh chopped dill alongside some Aldi lox & Inglehoffer’s creamed horseradish. Was too hungry to take a pic. It was beautiful and delicious ![]()
My MIL made these for my roomate when he was growing up and made them for my kids, too. Toasted American cheese on white bread and sprinkled with those artificial ‘bacon bits’.
Wait, are my eyes deceiving me, but are you actually heating that bowl up on your stovetop?
Brave, you are.
No I didn’t heat up the bowl on the stovetop but I am in fact brave! That bowl on the burner is probably a fire hazard but I am working from home today so I use the kitchen counter as my office desk and the stove top as my dining room table. (I do in fact have a dining room table but not big enough for computer equipment + breakfast/lunch dishes.) That’s what happens when you live in a small apartment.
Crispy quesadilla with leftover rotisseries chicken, refried black-beans, and Tillamook cheddar. Avocado tossed in a little oil and lime juice. Homemade pickled peppers. Sour cream and tabasco for me; sriracha mayo for him.
2 can dine(for $10.49) strikes again!
Sausage n Egg McMuffin and hashbrown X 2 , one now and one for later.
Your moderation skills amaze me!
Well, these certainly aren’t the healthiest things to have for breakfast, but the deal only comes around once in a while so… I’ve lost a shite ton of weight in the last few months(a combination of “diet”, drugs and lots of walking) and moderation is also a big factor.
Good for you!!!
No rock and roll?
I’m down 5 lbs, and I don’t want to brag, but I met my 200 000 step challenge before my phone battery died yesterday afternoon. I didn’t pick up my Too Good To Go carbs before the pick up window closed, because my phone died and I went home to charge it. The app requires you to swipe to pick up the carbs. A higher source was intervening, again. 2 weekends in a row. A voice told me to stop buying the slightly stale $5.99 bags of pastries and breads, even if you’re helping save the planet. Three times now. ![]()
