Flap steak, sous-vide to medium rare and seared. With fasolakia from the freezer. Pro tip: don’t freeze fasolakia. The potatoes get gritty (but the beans and sauce were ok).
Last night my DH cooked some pork chops that I soaked in feta cheese brine. He made an apple cider-Dijon pan sauce and butter beans with garden oregano and olive oil. Some leftover mac and cheese and a salad that I made with Austrian pumpkin seed oil and pepitas rounded out things. Delish!
Monkfish would be a great addition. Nice version of soup and sandwich. ![]()
Ladies night at the bar. One friend had fries, another the 8oz sirloin steak I decided against after seeing how thin the cut was (meh), and I opted for the mug o’ soup with roasted eggplant, zukes, chalkballs. Not very photogenic, but a good base for several cocktails that were had ![]()

Thank you! I’m usually of the school that less is more when it comes to shrimp and grits, but since we had the butter all made up in the freezer, I couldn’t resist. It was delicious.

This was both lunch and dinner, half for each meal.
Mortadella on a really fresh Italian roll with provolone/ lettuce/tomato/purple onion/mayo and hot pepper spread from my local Italian deli. $12 for this beauty and delicious.
Ora King salmon sashimi rice bowls with tomato and radish salad. I used the dressing from Kylie Kwong’s Luxurious Sashimi Salad in Heart And Soul (light and dark soy sauce, chiles, scallions, sesame oil, ginger).

I made a cheesy black bean and quinoa skillet from Eating Well. I added a can of chickpeas, browned green chili chicken sausages, tomatoes with green chilies, and a little cream cheese. I cooked the quinoa with chicken broth and bay leaf. Pretty tasty with blue corn chips.
After almost losing my phone yesterday, I def deserved a treat.
