Which movie are you catching?
It’s a French movie. The French title is “Ma mère, dieu et Sylvie Vartan”. According to IMDB the English title is “Once Upon My Mother”. It’s about a woman raising a son that has clubfoot at a time when there weren’t many resources available for those with disabilities. I’m seeing it as part of my membership with the Ottawa Film Society.

Ricotta is easy to make at home. It’s just milk, an acid like vinegar or lemon juice, maybe a little salt.

I confess I don’t like ricotta in ravioli, because it doesn’t melt. Cream cheese is a good idea.
NYT crispy baked fish (haddock) with tartar sauce, inspired by @MunchkinRedux, with wonderful late season FM salad of mixed radicchios and arugula. Recipe and method.
Tonight called for comfort food in the form of mashed potatoes, so we had roasted cod with a rosemary mashed potato crust, along with roasted asparagus. Adapted from:
I love this recipe!
Looks like perfect comfort food!
100% concur.
Thanks for the information about ricotta. It doesn’t sound all that hard to make my own. I’m not sure if I have any cheese cloth in stock. I remember purchasing some many years ago, but don’t know where it got to.
As far as the cream cheese, I softened it a bit in the microwave. It easily mixed in with the rest of the ingredients. It also acted as a nice binder holding everything together and easily spooning onto the pasta sheets.
I think it was just dumb luck that all the flavors played nice together.
Thank you! It is one of my favorites!
that looks amazing! may be dinner at my sister’s this Saturday…
whoa, another great fish dish i need to try!
I know, I know, beef fajitas again and all the fixings but I like it.. Not shown is his cilantro, jalapeño, onion, lime juice mix.
Caldo verde and bifana on Portuguese buns. All homemade and all from https://leitesculinaria.com/.
They really hit the spot on a cold and rainy day. Plenty of caldo verde for the freezer, too. Happy tummies.
Gulf shrimp and cheesy-scallion grits with sauteed leeks, bacon, and casino butter. Old Bay hot sauce and lemon slices for extras. Chopped tomato salad on the side.
I know, I know, chicken fajitas again.
Grilled chicken, poblano chile and onion, pico, sour cream. Radish and avocado. Margaritas, et tu @Miss_belle?
I know, I know..![]()
BF made his fabulous meatballs and marinara. He’s really nailed both. (I’d have had more than the one ball but was still full from a late lunch slice o’pizza.)
It looks so delicious - I want! ![]()
